Just a quick post for today. Gears like these can be found alongside many of the old mills in Lawrence. I’m not sure of their exact purpose, but being that they’re typically located along the many canals and waterways that run next to the mills, I’m guessing they had something to do with providing water to power parts of the mills. Regardless of their purpose, they look pretty cool, and are fun to photograph with all their gritty details.
