Old School Power

Today’s image comes from a renovated mill that kept much of its old machinery as part of a makeshift museum within the atrium of the mill.  While there are business offices and restaurants there now, there are also these amazing steam engines and generators on display that once powered the mill.  They have been extremely well preserved, and many appear as though they would still work today.  I chose to process this in B&W, even though the machinery is actually a very bold shade of red as I think it just looks more appropriate with this treatment given its historical nature.  I really love to photograph old equipment like this, and will be posting more images from here in the near future.
