Today’s image comes from a renovated mill that kept much of its old machinery as part of a makeshift museum within the atrium of the mill. While there are business offices and restaurants there now, there are also these amazing steam engines and generators on display that once powered the mill. They have been extremely well preserved, and many appear as though they would still work today. I chose to process this in B&W, even though the machinery is actually a very bold shade of red as I think it just looks more appropriate with this treatment given its historical nature. I really love to photograph old equipment like this, and will be posting more images from here in the near future.

Cool perspective Steven! I like the b+w…gives this one an antique feel!
Great details in this remnant of the past Steven. The B&W choice really does add that aged feel.
Nice job on the details and the bw processing is spot on for this.
I like the DOF here. Nice shot!
Great shot Steven and excellent processing. It’s perfect in B&W.
I like it, and agree that B&W is a perfect choice. Lots of eye candy 🙂
Always interesting to see what ingenuity of the past brought about.
Very cool shot Steven! The black and white here is terrific and awesome DOF!

Really digging these mill shots, man. Terrific DoF and processing.
I just love shots like this man and you’ve nailed it!
I THINK I know where this is! The building that Jamie’s Pub is in? North Andover?
Very nice BW treatment.
Thanks Bob, and you are correct. It’s a really great place to shoot.
