This is part of the extended building at the Monhegan Lighthouse which I previously posted about here and here. I was originally there to shoot the lighthouse itself, but instead ended up taking far more images of the rest of the property. There are just so many great lines and angles with the various roof lines and corners that I couldn’t help myself.
You are certainly right about the great angles here Steven. The red roof certainly enhances them.
I like the broad, upward sweep of the roof lines, Steven. And the subdued coloring and contrast set a nice mood.
Love all the natural weathering here, Steven, and that red roof is amazing. I also really enjoyed the subtle shadows that give some context to the picture, a real gem here my friend!!
A well balanced composition based around the elbow of these two ‘wings’ of the building. I’ve seen a variety of images of this popular lighthouse, but I don’t recall one of this side. Well worth walking round it to find this one, Steven
